Originally, the area was covered with spruce trees - 111 years old and most of them higher than 24 meters. In some parts the forest was and is still undergrown with birch trees between 15 and 20 years old.
The area during the winter
The picture shows the acreage after it was cleared from the broken trees - there is not much imagination needed to grasp the extent of the damage that was left by the beetle and the storm.Originally, the area was covered with spruce trees - 111 years old and most of them higher than 24 meters.
